You just got it today? Did you apply regular decision or early action? I didn't know they were still giving those out. Did you call them? Sorry for the abundance of question but I was also looking to receive a scholarship from UMD, but have not received anything.

BK scholarships just went out. The rest of the scholarships (besides departmental) pretty much all went out.

Ok thanks. If you didn't get any general scholarships, do you think there is any chance that you will get departmental scholarships?

I don't really know, but it does depend on the department.

So...I'll very possibly be a Terp next year.
I was just awarded the full scholarship.

Gina.......CONGRATULATIONS!!!! WOW!!!! YOU MUST BE THRILLED!!!

Thank you so much. Yeah, I still can't believe it.
(This is Gina using her mother's computer and her account)

12k/yr for me. Got the letter today. A disappointing end to a really crappy week for me.

rschlegel420....why disappointed to get $12K/yr??
Below is what got me admission to Honors/Gemstone AND a nifty merit of $1500 for just a single year, which comes out annualized to $375/yr. WOO-HOO....still unsure of how to spend it all!

Ds received his letter and certificate today..........................

~~~~~~~~~~FULL BANNEKER/KEY SCHOLARSHIP~~~~~~~
Awesome! Congratulations!
Congrats!!!!
Thanks! We are so excited for him!
Nice Jewels!
Mind if I ask for stats? In or OOS? Heritage, etc?
Yeah, got the full ride!!!
Congratulations Collegebound!!! Still doin' the happy dance here!!
jomass,
We are OOS, fantastic stats, great heritage!! Hate to be vague, but DS finds requests for stats and heritage invasive.
Congratulations to everyone receiving B/K awards!!
S1 got a full ride. But, we are sure 99% that we will decline it. I hope this allows another really deserving excellent candidate to get this wonderful opportunity.
Congrats to all!!
I can certainly understand your frustration, jomass, believe me. I got invited to the B/K for UMd, to give you an idea of my stats, and got a paltry $1200/yr from ohio st (i'm from ohio). It can be upsetting to see people from OOS get the $7200/yr national buckeye scholarship when i got next to nothing. But at the same time, the 12k from maryland doesn't even offset OOS tuition, which could be a problem for me.
Had I recieved the full scholarship, I was almost definitely attending UMd. But now, needless to say, I've got alot more to consider before I make any decision.
And ginab591, I am a he. I appreciate your insightful and p.c. post. lol
Haha sorry about that. I saw your name and thought 'Rachel' for some reason.
Congrats to collegebound and hyeonjee!
So, anybody now having to choose between UMD for free and a big name school for definitely not free?
