Banneker/Key Scholarship

Hi,
the University of Maryland has notified me that I'm a semifinalist for the Banneker/Key scholarship. I'm planning to major in Violin Performance next year, and most likely will attend UMCP. Can anyone who has gone through the interview process or knows someone who has give me information on what it's like? What type of questions they ask? Thanks!

This question has been asked before, so you can see some answers with a little research. My memory of the answers is that the interviewees responded that the interviews were informal and easy going. I personally would do some research on the school and announced major, college, and faculty. But that’s just the boy scout in me.

My info is a few years old but when my S was interviewed, I do remember it was quick and pretty informal. I think it lasted only 10 min or so and, according to my S, they asked pretty basic questions. Use search feature to look for more updated info. Good luck.

hey guys, after the mandatory event there will be A Discussion with an Honors Program Director at 4:30pm. I have an appointment around 5; is it worth it to cancel the appointment to attend the discussion?

^same^ (dress rehearsal with orchestra for show in which my son is a lead)
What will we miss? If we’ve attended a lot of other UMd sessions, do we probably have the info we need (plus my son is already slotted into a specific Honors College program, and this Director might not be the Director of his particular program, right?)?
