I am an international Smith applicant (for freshmen admittance) and I had sent all my application materials by the 17th January via courier so I know that Smith received them. The thing is that I still haven't received any BannerWeb stuff from them. I had not heard from adcom at all until recently, when i emailed them about the status of my application. They said that they had received all necessary documents for my app but never mentioned anything about the BannerWeb. Should i be worried?

I wouldn't be worried, but you could call them or email them and just let them know you never received it. It probably got lost in the mail or in the shuffle of admissions documents.

They may just tell you that it's coming, it may just be late because of the backlog of admissions paperwork. They may send another one though. You don't need a bannerweb log in at this point, you'll need it to view your acceptance status later on when they're released, but that's not until much later, yes?

You can email them about your application status, but they will not release the bannerweb username and password via email(this is what happened to me), but mine arrived about a week earlier(I'm also an international applicant).

If they tell you that your application is complete then you are all set. I think the password will eventually arrive in the mail, though it may well take more than a month, but there's a good chance that it will arrive before admission decisions are released, so you won't necessarily need a bannerweb log in until late March.:)

You should not be worried, since they have confirmed the safe arrival of the documents.

Also an international applicant, I got mine at the beginning of Feb.
It begins to look like there are plenty of us, int'l appl. I can't wait for the decisions. Good Luck you guys!

thanks guys! i certainly hope it comes soon. and yes, i cant wait for the decisions. 1st april couldnt come soon enough. btw, does anyone know if smith gives out its decision any earlier? i've heard that some other LACs have notified accepted candidates earlier. (i dont mean likely letters btw)

I wouldn't count on it. I did get a letter about how to get a loan a couple of days before i got the acceptance package, but i think that's just because I live on the West Coast of the states and the delivery went wonky.

But they do post admissions decisions on bannerweb on the day they're supposed to come out (april 1st I guess), so you'll be able to check then. Good luck!

Do they post admissions decisions on BannerWeb the same day they mail the letters? Because I have reasons to think that the letters will be mailed a little earlier than April 1st.

In my case, the decision was posted on a Friday, and I received the official letter the following Monday. So yes, decisions were probably mailed the same day they were posted.

I am applying from Singapore. Yourself? I am so annoyed that I haven't received the Bannerweb info. I mean I know they have a hard time tracking the thousands of applications that Smith receive but come on, its already more than a month. Grrrrgh. I hate having to check the mail box everyday. Makes me more nervous than i already am.

Did any of you get a big envelope from Smith with brochures in it lately? The letter was nice saying they knew waiting was hard and they were sending pamphlets on all the extra curriculars to make the time pass. My D thought it was an acceptance, even though it was really early. None of us thought any colleges would send out a big fat envelope with neat stuff in it right now. It was a nice letter and cool brochures, but it seems cruel if they end up rejecting you.

I am applying from Romania. I was nervous too before I got the envelope,so I know what you are going through...

citrusbelt, I personally didn't get any envelope with brochures but it can only be a good sign for your D

Mykie011, my counselor received an e-mail from Smith (there were some problems with school forms), and they said something about a certain date, earlier that April 1st... but... I'm not so sure and I don't want to give you wrong informations...

So, let's just wait for the official news!:D

I got that envelope too. When I saw it I thought maybe Smith was sending out early acceptances or something, but I wasn't too terribly disappointed to just find brochures and such. I suppose it was nice of them though receiving a big envelope in March is rather misleading.

My D got that big envelope yesterday. If she cared I couldn't tell. Well she DID open it. She has recieved a few emails and mailings from various schools lately, I think to keep her interested.
