I’d say pretty good chances. But you should pick the most important EC’s you want to list because you have a lot, like I do, and they might think you joined them to pad your resume.

obviously no one is a lock at yale unless you are recruited for track but doing varsity track along w/ working 40 hours a week is kind of ridiculuous. You “should” get in but again no one is a lock

I’d say you’ve got a great shot. I really don’t see any weaknesses except for a lack of community service. Although you said you got the Excellence in Community Service Award, so I guess that must mean you did a lot of Community Service, so just make sure to list what you did when you apply.

Just write great essays, get good recs, and apply SCEA…you should get in (ivies are crazy *****es, however)

Oh, and as for the common app, you’re supposed to choose your 7 favorite activities (you can still attach a resume, though)

Haha I am a man. I’m researching running at Yale, but I really don’t think I want to run at the collegiate level, I feel like I’ll want to focus on other things, but of course if I’m recruited or something I’ll get over it.

To evilspartan I was sort of hoping that that award would show them that I have a lot of community service (I have over 100 hours freshman and sophomore years with over 150 this year), do you think I need to list all of the different projects and everything?

I think your chances look really good. just make sure you organize your ecs and emphasize the more important ones.
i cant believe you have a 40 hr a week job! how do you possibly fit that in during the school year?

Thanks for the chances everyone, I chanced everyone back who posted a thread, and anyone else who would like to be chanced just put it on here.

rdf, are there any ECs that really popped out to you? Because I am having a really hard time consolidating my list to 7 things, mostly because I’ve done all of those things for a really long time and all of them besides Boys State (was not a fan) I really enjoyed.

thats difficult. i guess i’d probably emphasize the ecs you did throughout high school on your common app and include things like the poetry club on an attached resume

Really, really solid stats. The breadth of your interests is a hook (varsity track, drama, and a job). If I might ask, is this a private or public school? (going to public could be a marginal hook at Yale, not that you need one)
But I hate chancing Ivies, lol. They are fickle, fickle crapshoots.
