I have been looking into a Master's degree in Economics and decided I would like to look into the Stockholm School of Economics, UCL, NYU, Uni of Toronto, Tilburg University and Erasumus University in Rotterdam (and maybe Maastricht University)

Looking at grad schools, I came across the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. It looks really interesting to me, seems to have good facilities, etc. However, it's a new school and I don't see it in the rankings anywhere. Is anyone familiar with the school? How's teaching, placement and the reputation? I would really love to live in Barcelona, but the only school I'm quite familiar with in Barcelona is ESADE, which is more a business-oriented school.

At the moment, I have a strong preference for the Stockholm School of Economics and possibly the Barcelona GSE. Does anyone have admission stats?!

I don’t have stats for any of these, but the test magic forum is a great resource! They have a PhD Economics area which lots of threads on masters as well, especially european ones.

All the school you listed have a great reputation, especially UCL. (So do Oxbridge and LSE). I heard really good things about Stockholm as well.

Thanks for the tip, i’ll have a look there!

I am from The Netherlands. Yes I am fluent in Spanish, i lived in Argentina for a while and did an exchange there.

Yeah I heard UCL has a good rep. in pretty much anything, but nothing in particular…I do have a friend doing her Master’s there at this point but she tells me its VERY math-oriented. I like math, but only to a certain extend… Think I would prefer the MPhil program in Cambridge over Oxford and LSE.

I did quite well on my GRE(M: 750, Analytical writing: 5), except for the verbal part, which was total crap (390). Hope they wont look at it too much when evaluating my application. Does anyone have any adission stats from Stockholm? Really no idea how selective they are.

Do you think NYU is worth the money is you want to do a Masters in econ? Or best to stay in Europe?

Once again, very much interested in barcelona gse…but nobody seems to have heard of it.
