Hoping to hear from anyone who’s accepted and/or attending.

Celloflute - I’m a parent of a 4th year student in the college/conservatory. Congratulations if you’re accepted and considering attending. If you have any questions about the music program, let me know (considering your name!)

I’m waiting on RD. Can anyone who was accepted post their stats?

My son was accepted EA. Bard is his first choice school right now, but it’s the most expensive school he applied to and their NPC gave us one of the worst financial aid estimates, so we have to wait and see how the FA plays out. I had been hoping that we would get an early estimate since he was an early admit, but the FA office said we’ll hear along with all of the RD admits in early April.

His unweighted GPA through junior year is 3.8.
His SAT scores are 790 M, 710 R, 630 W.

He’s taken a lot of honors and AP classes, but he has a few regular level ones thrown in the mix too. ECs are passionate but limited. (He puts his heart and soul into being lead guitar, singer, and song/music writer for a rock band; helping to run a musicians’ club at school; and immersive wilderness classes and outings.) No sports besides recreational baseball.

awkwardcreation,
I was accepted EA with a 2100 SAT score (800 verbal, 720 writing and 580 math). GPA is 3.75 unweighted and 4.5 weighted. I have a few very consistent ECs and areas of interest, 100 hours of volunteer work and a good amount of tutoring but no “leadership” roles.

My daughter, who’s now a sophomore, did not submit SATs and had an average GPA. She had a great interview though, stellar extra curriculars, and an outstanding essay (which was packaged with a video). She was accepted Immediate Action.

Hiya! I’m Doron. Accepted EA, and I’ll be attending.

GPA: unweighted, 2.8, weighted: 3.34.

SAT: 2130.

Very active in politics, president of the state chapter of a fringe political party, acted in school plays, and just a hodgepodge of stuff.

In my acceptance letter, Bard made it very clear that they were taking a chance on me with my grades because they think I have potential to be tapped. I’m really thankful and excited to go.

Oh yeah, I also took a BUNCH of AP classes and got a lot of 5s on my AP exams.

Accepted immediate back in november…super excited, but I’m waiting to hear from my other schools plus about aid. Good gpa, 2250 sat (m800 cr690 w760), other than that my application wasn’t especially special. Looking forward to the accepted students day, but a little nervous…a friday 4/20 at bard will be interesting.

As a current student at Bard: yes, accepted students day will be … interesting…

Why it was scheduled for 4/20 is beyond me.

When do we find out?? and how? Email or snail mail…

The acceptance comes by mail - in a small thin #10 envelope. (Or has in the past.)

Any idea if the notifications to international students are also sent by mail? Email?

Just got my acceptance in the mail… Yes, they are a bit deceiving because it looks just like a standard envelope, but a tiny bit thicker… That extra thickness made all the difference though! Not sure if I’m going to attend yet. I applied to 27 schools, and have only heard back from around 9, so many decisions to make soon! Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations Overachiever - I’d say that name fits you if you applied to 27 schools! Oh my. You’re going to have a challenge choosing…

As for international applicants, I believe in the past they were notified via email.

My niece in California got her letter of acceptance today! Now just waiting to hear about financial aid.

Just hosted a group of Bardians for dinner that my daughter brought home and yet again I was impressed with what a smart, lively, passionate group of kids they are. It’s a very special school that seems to attract real intellectuals and freethinkers.

I’ve had the same experience meeting my son’s friends. Exactly how I would describe them.

Congratulations guys. I’m still waiting to find out … guess because I’m international I’ll have to wait a little longer

Son here in California got the nice thin acceptance letter today, financial aid coming later in the week…He’s quite happy today!
