Congratulations, Morganhil. There are a number of California Bard parents posting here - we’ll all be happy, I’m sure, to answer any questions you may have.

Have any internationals received decisions yet either by mail or email?

Not yet… I’m in the UK
I don’t expect to hear for at least another week :’)

Did anyone in the NY area hear yet? I live on Long Island, and nothing…

I’m in NJ and I haven’t heard anything yet.

I still didn’t hear today. :/

I’m an international students from Qatar, and still have not heard back. Do you guys know if international students will be notified via email?

I was denied. Letter was dated March 22, I live on Long Island, New York.

Sorry to hear that awkwardcreation - good luck with your other schools!

Just got my acceptance letter today. Very happy to hear :)

@dreighver - Way to go! Congrats :)

Thanks a bunch, SAK!

Just got in! So happy!

3.3 unweighted, 3.5 weighted. 2000 SAT.

Is there a facebook group?

Just got in!
Really prestigious boarding school in CT (sorry if that sounds conceited) and extremely underqualified. GPA’s around a 3.3 unweighted and I don’t actually know my final SAT score.
<1950, though!

Congratulations, everyone!

I’m going to make a group! Unless someone else wants to… I want to meet you guys!

I’m all for creating a group – go ahead and make one Tess. I would love to attend Bard, but I have a number of other schools where I’ve been accepted, not to mention the financial aid needs to be adequate. ~50k is a lot of money!

@dreighver - Haha, I’m still waiting to hear back from 9 schools, but I can really see myself at Bard! I would be absolutely thrilled to attend, but I won’t make any decisions until I hear back from the others. Maybe someone who’s for sure going should make the group…

I’m just so excited!

I understand where you’re at. I applied to the most schools of my senior class (15). While having options is a great thing, the pressure of having to make a choice between a large number of great colleges isn’t easy. But I digress…

Anyhow, if nothing else, we can look at the Bard College Facebook page and see what they have to say there. Unlike most colleges, I didn’t see an official ‘Class of 2017’ page. Perhaps they’re waiting to create that group until they’re confident that the majority of their decision letters have been received.

Congratulations on your acceptance! Bard seems like a really great place and I’m happy you got in.

does anyone know what a ‘levy scholar’ is?

If you’re talking about scholarship (for incoming freshmen):

Levy Economics Scholarship

Each year several full-tuition, four-year scholarships are available to academically outstanding high school seniors committed to majoring in economics during their undergraduate studies.

Applicants must write a short statement (no more than one page) describing their interest in the field. This statement should be submitted directly to the Office of Admission with your application.

Additional financial aid to assist in covering remaining costs, such as room and board, may be applied for and will be awarded on the basis of need. Additional assistance will take the form of a loan or campus employment.

A student receiving a Levy Economics Scholarship must major in economics, maintain a B+ (3.3) grade average, and earn at least 32 credits per year.

I also got into Bard. Super excited. Hopefully financial aid package will be substantial. Anyway, I would love to make a fb group “Bard College Class of 2017.” Look me up to add me on fb: Redirecting... if you’re interested.
