Bard Immediate Decision Plan (IDP) Prep/Tips

Hi There!

I’m a high school senior and I’m using Bard’s Immediate Decision Plan this November. I’m a little worried about how the day is split up and how I should prepare. Does anyone have experience on how the day actually goes down or suggestions on how to excel in the interview process

Thanks!

Hey,
I’m going to be participating in IDP as well, on the 21st. I’m worried too, but I’ve only heard good things about the atmosphere of the classroom and about the interview. Things seem to be pretty casual and meant to give us a chance to personally explain why we love Bard! I’m sorry I can’t be very much help, since I haven’t gone yet. What day are you going, if you haven’t already?

its wonderful! I went on the 8th, and I’m currently awaiting my decision. don’t be worried at all  everyone there was super friendly, and nice. All we did was discuss plato/russeau and had a quick interview. Depending on your time, you may get a lot of chill time with the kids in your class. we did and it was a ton of fun making friends

D2 is attending on 11/22. Do they have things for the parents to do while the students are busy?

They have a Q&A session with a senior administrator – we were lucky enough to have Leon Botstein. My daughter had the latest interview at 1:30; many kids were done much earlier. We ate lunch in the cafeteria while we were waiting.

We were lucky enough to have Leon Botstein as well–what an entertaining and fascinating hour and a half. D2 was a little surprised at the interview–she was not asked any of the “why Bard” questions she had so carefully prepared answers to. Anyway, I guess the interview was good enough–her acceptance came in the mail today!

Congratulations Sudsie and daughter. My S has graduated now, but I’m happy to answer any questions, if I can. Feel free to PM me.

My DD is going next Saturday. Any tips?
