Hi, I’m an international student from China and have been elected as Bard Distinguish Scientist Scholar(DSS), which provide full tuitions. But I’m wondering what are biology and math like there? Do they provide enough research opportunities and how are the faculties? Also, where about some biology students in Bard go for grad school? I’m choosing between WPI and Bard and feeling REALLY REALLY puzzled…
Can anyone help me?
thx a lot guys:)

Bard is emphasizing science and math these days. They have a new science building which looks amazing and I'm told there are lots of opportunities for research. My D, who is a first year student (not in science), was unable to take biology this year because the classes were reserved for science majors. Congrats on your award, by the way!

haha,thank u! that's cooooool

Bard's DSS award is one of the toughest things in the world to get. You should be extremely proud of that accomplishment!

I do not know specifically about biology, but as stratmom said, for the past five years or so, Bard has been ramping up science and math, making it a go-to school for scientists who also have a love for the arts.

A high percentage of grads continue on to grad school. You should contact the chairperson of biology and have a sit-down....or an e-mail, since you're from afar. ;)

Hey~sasimirobot, I have almost the same problem with you. but i do not get a DSS....
I'm Chinese and I'm also making a tough decision between Bard and WPI
I'm not 100% sure that I'll take engineering or science as my future career, though I like science. Bard is also expensive for me.
If I get a DSS, i'll definately go to Bard. Bard is so special!
