Bare: The Musical

I'm glad to hear that your D is enjoying working on the show. I hope she gets to know Pam Myers. She's a fabulous performer and a truly nice lady.

I was very pleased that, at the end of the PBS telecast of "Company" a couple of weeks ago, Stephen Sondheim spoke about his experience watching Pam audition and working with her in the original production. He had many nice things to say about her.

Role of a lifetime isn't in the 'version' they are doing? Are you kidding? Thats the best song in the show... and its kind of an important song and ties together a lot of themes.... do you know why they aren't doing it?

I have no idea why they aren't doing it, but it is not in the vocal score or on the CD and they are using a fully licensed production. So it wasn't a directors choice or something. I was surprised when I couldn't find it and although I am old and thought the first time I was being just dumb, I have now heard it enough times to know it isn't there.

thats really sad, its the best song in the show imo.

Actually I guess I am dumb because it is there. I don't know how I missed it.

just wondering what role your D was cast as....love the show!

Momfirst- thanks for asking. She is Kyra, but vocally singing sort of a hodge-podges, but typically the highest part.

Hey keepingcalm, congratulations to your D.
Just wondering - what did she end up singing for her audition?

greenglasslove- it was a while ago and my old brian has troubles. I know for the 16 bars she did Take Me or Leave Me from Rent, but for the 12 bars contrasting I have trouble remembering. I know it was from a sporano, very traditional MT song. I know it wasn’t Glaucomora but something similar- we figured it would cover the “choirish” parts of the show. Sorry I am so foggy, but DD has pretty much given up singing and focused on dance.
