I’m not sure if this is a good sign or bad one or probably doesn’t even matter. Did they ask you guys?

Hmm . . . what do you mean they “asked” you?

As for me, I haven’t heard anything, but I am on a trimester schedule - we have finals today and tomorrow. I wonder if that makes a difference in their request(s)?

My representative called my guidance counselor and asked her to send my first quarter grades.

Oh. Hmm . . . I have no idea what could mean. How were your first quarter grades? I think depending on what they were you should / should not have to worry.

They were really good. I qas just curious if others were asked the same thing

When the admissions rep visited my school in October, I asked her if they’d want 1st quarter grades for ED applicants. I believe her exact phrasing was, “We may or may not ask for them.” I asked her what that meant, and under what circumstance they’d ask. She said there was no general circumstance, I guess they just want more information about you.

Perhaps they are searching for a trend and is unclear by past performance? At least it means they’ve reviewed your app and you’re not an automatic out ;)

So did the rep contact you too, or just your counselor? I’d hate for my counselor to send my grades without first warning me >.<

i had to send my own grades. on the “track your application” page for ed, it says you can submit a mid-semester report. i asked my counselor and she said i could just email the barnard rep with my quarter grades
i think most early decision applicants submit first quarter grades

glowzo- it says that on the tracker for everybody, but it’s optional. They said if they really want it for some reason, they will contact your school.

Oh…I thought it was required to send your first quarter grades (it was in the application fine print somewhere) so I asked my guidance counselor to send mine.

My first semester ends in the middle of January so I won’t be able to send mine before I get a decision…

reviving this thread… does anyone know if this still holds true. By first quarter are these transcript grades that are official and put into after midterms?
