So, I’m currently a Sophomore with the aspiration of going to Barnard EARLY DECISION and doing whatever it takes to get there.
I did really poorly freshman year due to certain serious personal reasons, so I’m currently trying to bring my avg up from an 88.I go to a VERY competitive school in New York City
I haven’t taken the SAT yet obviously, but I’ve taken practice tests and received 2000+
I’m aiming for a 2150-2200 or so. I think by my junior year I can get up to a 90 and go from there.(My HS doesn’t weight averages)
Will have taken atleast 4 APs
My ECs aren’t very rigorous right now since I’m a very competitive rower and hopeful of getting noticed by Columbia/Barnard’s crew team.
I’m getting involved with a women’s leadership program.
I’ve won many awards for essays that I’ve submitted to contests.I’m hoping to get involved with Operation Smile sometime soon.
This summer, I am going to have many other ECs under my belt.

CHANCE ME? Remember, ED and from a competitive HS
I am of mixed middle eastern/south asian/european descent.
Can you also chance me for NYU, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Smith, Williams, Bing, Syracuse, Lehigh, & UMich

I don’t do “chances”. All I can say is do your best between now and your Senior year, and then go ahead and apply to those dream schools. It’s certain you will not get in any of them if you don’t apply. Also, make sure there are some “safety” schools in your mix.

Nobody (and I mean NOBODY) can really assess your chances. But you are the ONLY one who, at this point, has any control over how all this turns out.

Best to you!

Hey, I’m a current senior who was accepted to Barnard ED. Sorry this isn’t the chance-me statistic you’re seeking, but here’s some advice. SO MUCH is going to change for your between now and senior year, including perhaps your outlook on life. For this reason, I think it’s great that you’re putting such effort into the college search process as a sophpmore, but be prepared to change your mind. When I was a sophomore, I was OBSESSED with Stanford. It took me a year and a half to look past the initial “wow!” and realize it would have been completely wrong for me.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions about the college search.

P.S. I did “poorly” my freshman year too. I guess my strong soph+junior grades made up for it, but also Barnard is a school that can look past that.

Don’t decide where you want to apply ED NOW! At this point last year, I was 99% sure I wanted to apply ED to Brown. Now I don’t think I’m going to apply ED anywhere.

ch0c0lat3: Didn’t you get accepted ED to Brown?

No, didn’t even apply to Brown…
