Barnard Class of '20 Discussion

yeah i was supposed to have a big math test thursday but honestly i was like “nope” to my teacher and we got it moved :~) so now i can focus on being a nervous wreck!! fun!!

geez… I wish my teachers did that. They don’t ever move tests, even if half of the class is crying (which has happened before, believe it or not). Ah, well, that’s life, I guess.

Yeah I really want my teacher to move it to next week but I also don’t want to study over the weekend so I guess I’ll just get it over with :frowning: also almost 2 days guys!!!

Hi guys, I just saw this discussion after weeks of stalking Barnard College. I am an international applicant and have applied ED. I’m so nervous- I cant seem to do anything else but think about this. And the worst part is - I have on going exams right now! ugh. Because of the time difference, I will get my decision at about 4AM the morning of my psychology exam- obviously, thats gone for a toss :P.

@ahhhh98 good luck!!!

only. two. days. AHHHHHHH

literally dying right now!!! Ahhhhh

Less than 2 days and we’ll know!!! AHHH

IT’S INSANE TO THINK ABOUT!!!

and if any of you guys get in (which i’m sure will happen, knock on wood) are you gonna use roomsurf? like is that a thing to use or are you just gonna let the school choose your roommate for you? i feel so college rn

idk why that got starred out it’s called room surf

@teenwitch I might, I know some Barnard students have used it in the past

Does anyone know the specific time of day? Or when emails were sent last year, which might be an indication?

@magdalena497 I think someone posted earlier on this thread that last year people started posting their results at about 6:20pm, so it’ll probably be around that time

@teenwitch what is room surf? I thought most people at Barnard let the college choose

yeah, no i wasn’t sure if a lot of people used it! it’s a website that connects to your fb and then you mark what college you’re going to and then you take a personality test and it matches you with someone who is really compatible with you. and then if you want you request your roommate  this works for any college (i think) not just barnard @mrnwkl

@teenwitch I hadn’t even thought about roommates yet… I think seeking out someone is probably a good idea. I know so many people who got placed with random people and they are not having a good relationship at all. But you can also hit it off, so who knows.
I’m used to the system Smith College has, where you take a personality test and they place you into houses. I almost assumed all schools did something similar.

@xfiles4life yeah i honestly have to idea i’m getting ahead of myself but tbh my friends and i were talking about the movie the roommate and how we wanted to choose our roommates so we don’t have a sticky situation on our hands hahah but yeah we’ll all see how our college(s) (?) figures out rooming i just wanted to ask/let everyone know!! also this is a way for me to procrastinate :~)

@xfiles4life @teenwitch wait but that is how Barnard works. You take a test and they hand pair you with a roommate, and apparently they have had really good success rate with it. They don’t assign it randomly at all. You can read up on it here: http://barnard.edu/reslife/new-students/roommates#roommate_matching

1 DAY!!!
