Also, my FAFSA did change dates. Don’t know if this happened to anyone else who was accepted, maybe it’s just random.
@ccgf01 Congrats! Did you apply for an opportunity program at Barnard?
Accepted wowwwwwwwwww! I was deferred ED
Everyone I had a 3.5 GPA like I was getting rejected EVERYWHERE but I threw my whole life in those Barnard essays and it paid off!
I’m crying now
What are the chances I get accepted off the waitlist?
@ccgf01 @electrichapel9 You guys must be so so happy after ED deferral. I am very happy for you!
Waitlisted Does anyone know how Barnard handles their waitlist?
Does anyone know what the acceptance rate was this year?
Last year 1099 were admitted to the class of '22, but only 608 enrolled.
Like any college, they realize that a certain percentage of admitted students will be picking one of the other colleges they had also been accepted to - and they try to factor that in as close as possible. But, every year they’ll be underestimating their enrollment by a few, realizing that they’ll need to draw on some qualified candidates on the waitlist who have expressed continued interest.
@samiam1:
Last year acceptance rate was 13.99%.
Total Applied: 7,897 (993 ED), admitted: 1,099 - of which 608 enrolled.
Accepted! 4.0 GPA 1580 SAT
My finaid date didn’t change so I don’t think it means anything
@Selenarahman I didn’t apply for an opportunity program. I just have a lot of extracurriculars, showed an enormous amount of interest, and had pretty solid writing pieces!
@samiam1 No, we don’t know what the acceptance rate is yet for this year. It will be probably be announced in a few days if last year is any guide.
Waitlisted, 1510 SAT, 3.98 UW, this week is not going well, 2 waitlists and 1 rejection
Accepted through the HEOP Program!
Can’t wait to see you all! Excited!
Does anyone know how many students get off the waitlist every year? Couldn’t find the stats…
I got accepted but they didn’t give me any financial aid ? all the other top liberal arts schools I applied to gave me around $15000 in need based aid so I don’t understand why they didn’t give me any. Barnard was my dream school but I know my mom will never let me attend
Hey all! I just want to say congratulations to all who got accepted. As a current first-year and also deferred ED-er I know it was a tough road and I commend you all for getting in! And for those of you who got waitlisted don’t give up. If you’re passionate about Barnard, don’t hesitate to send letters of interest and more recs! I did to get off the deferred list.
Lastly for those who have been rejected, I know everyone is saying this, but don’t look at this as a bad sign. Another college more deserving of you is out there. Barnard just didn’t see how talented and wonderful you are and it’s a shame. As someone who had Barnard pegged as my “dream school” I was thinking of and getting myself excited for another liberal arts college in NYC, and I assure you that it’s okay not to get into your dream school. It was your dream school for a reason, and I know that each and everyone of you will be okay and be happy wherever you end up. Please don’t let this rejection knock you down. You are all wonderful, talented women and should be proud of yourselves nonetheless.
Congratulations to everyone who got in! unfortunately, i wasn’t offered a place.
I think my act scores were too low:((
Congrats againnnn
@pveg123 where did you find the financial aid information? I could not find it on the portal. Is it out already?
Do not be discouraged if you are deferred in ED, I was and got accepted today. Was denied to Northeastern and Boston College. Just goes to show you the system is very unpredictable
