@bm23 AHHH! I’M SO SCARED!!! I hope we all get in
ME TOO! I can’t stop thinking about it guys! I really hope we all get in!
@Ruby99 I never got a finaid email… does that mean I’m not in!?
Hey loves, I’m from the 2020 class! Take a deep breath, the results are coming on the next few days! Excited to see new faces on campus!!!
we’re all anxious but excited!!! do you know when they typically send out the email saying when the decision will be?
@duffytdr I don’t think so! It is probably just a mistake or they just haven’t sent them out to everyone yet—I wouldn’t consider it a reflection on whether or not you will be admitted.
Thanks @brarsbit ! We’re trying aahahaha
@brarsbit How’s Barnard? AHH! I can’t wait to see if I get to walk the beautiful campus again
@mbp6320 @bm23 This is what last year’s admission’s website said. Hopefully it’ll be the same this year!! 1 week left
Dear Student,
We are happy that Barnard College emerged as your top choice and that you chose to submit an Early Decision application. In this day of immediate replies and automated responses, we know that it takes patience to wait for our decision. For this reason, we write to notify you that your decision letters should be received by mid-December as planned. Additionally, we will email decisions on the evening of Thursday, December 10th (ET).
While we cannot admit every student who applies, we do consider each application carefully, and we do so within the context of each student’s passions and choices. Applications are reviewed without formulas and with attention to all parts, but we do receive applications from many more talented students than we are able to admit. We thank you for taking great care with what you submit. We try to do the same in our review and decisions.
If you have not received an email by Friday, December 11th, you may contact us to learn your decision over the phone or you may wait for your letter to arrive by mail.
With best regards,
The Office of Admissions at Barnard College
@Ruby99 @daeneryssnow OMG I didn’t get any email about the financial portal either. Could it really mean I’m not in?
@duffytdr Have you received one now?
@brarsbit You’re so sweet (even though I feel like a flaming pile of stress hormones 24/7 since November 1st)! @ folks who are missing financial aid emails, I think it’s more indicative of potential errors in the creation and submission of your CSS profile rather than your acceptance to Barnard. I would review your CSS and make sure it is totally complete and check your admissions portal to make sure your financial aid application and Common App were both submitted properly!
@TroLTY10 It’s probably just indicative of errors on their side… I got a financial aid email on Thursday but was unable to access the website yesterday because the site was down. Also, I don’t know if this is true but maybe the emails are coming in first to the people that they think have the most financial need?
maybe @figgie13 …i’m hella poor ahahaha
According to the Columbia 2021 ED thread, several people are confirming, w/ letters from their guidance counselor or Questbridge, that the release date will be December 12. It appears that Barnard always releases the same day as Columbia.
Hopefully this is the correct date. Good luck to everyone!
@Ruby99 haha I was just guessing. Maybe it’s based off the date we submitted our apps or our location idk
@figgie13 you’re right, who knows? hahaha
@HongdouMianbao hopefully you’re right!!!
@figgie13 That would be great, but if I had to guess I don’t think that your theory is completely right. I’m solidly middle class so there are definitely many more folks that would need more aid than me!
@HongdouMianbao Thanks! That’s good to know (for the sake of my frayed nerves and accuracy of my countdown clock).
Hey guys! I’m applying from Switzerland, anyone know what the hear back date for internationals is? I really hope it’s the same as yours…
