I’ve been stalking the discussion for a while now as well! I applied to Barnard ED from California!
do you guys think that the ED rate will be as high as it has been in the past?? was it really around 40% last year because thats insane
I thought last years was like 1/3 ish accepted, and 1/5 ish deferred…
have you guys considered the fact that hillary clinton probably brought quite a bit of attention to wellesley and thus the sister schools/all girls’ schools in general, so the increase in applicants probably increased more than it usually does from year to year?

@rosola3 idk how much difference that’s really gonna make tho… maybe Wellesley, but I think Barnard is (though still hitting a record in admissions) still at its usual 30 ish acceptance for ED
yes i know haha i just realized this yesterday since a friend of mine applied ed to wellesley and she’s getting her decision tomorrow. i hope i’m wrong too
I’m also applying to Wesleyan, Tufts, Emerson, Lafayette, NYU, and Villanova regular
@rosola3 I’m applying for CBYX, which is a scholarship to study in Germany for a year. By contacting them, I just meant I emailed them in addition to mentioning it in the Common App. What are you planning to do for your gap year?
@hopeful223 If I don’t get into Barnard, I’m also applying to Reed, Wesleyan, Wellesley, and Bryn Mawr. I’ve already submitted my apps for Smith and UC Berkeley. (If I get rejected/deferred from Barnard, I’ll probably end up applying ED II somewhere…)
Hopefully, we don’t have to worry about more application fees come next week!!

Does Barnard always release ED decisions the same day as Columbia, or is it possible ours will come out later, like on the 14th or 15th?
@Ruby99 I was wondering the same thing. They haven’t sent out an email yet and usually do at least a week in advance and it’s the 7th now.
maybe they won’t send the initial email stating the announcement date at all?
I don’t know- when @mintstars called they said that they would send out an email this week stating the decision date I think

hey guys! I called about two days ago and the lady there said they were still reviewing applications… so I’m not sure if its going to come out the 12th. Does anyone know if we are going to receive both an acceptance/ rejection 
email and letter in the mail? I hope we’ll know monday or we get an email soon. Good luck to everyone!

@sharoncheung Oh my goodness, still reviewing applications? :(( That is certainly nerve wracking. I think they send emails at 6pm on the day they release the information but they send letters/packets as well. Not sure of what order, and I’m sure it depends on where you’re located.
