Barnard College ED Class of 2022!

@ccln2018 i did the summer in the city program in 2016 and LOVED it!

@amaliep i’m from ny

@ccln2018 same!! its weird to think the fate of our next four years depends on one email in less than a week and a half and im just so scared

what is everyone planning on majoring in? I really want to major in history considering the strength of the professors at barnard and its proximity to so many institutions and the reacting to the past classes seem so fun

@creativecow do you know what time we will find out on Tuesday the 12th?

@mw5818 I did the Summer In The City Program too! Did you do the 4 week version? I took Religions of NYC and The Rise of Trump (a Poli-Sci Class). Both of these classes had some of the most illuminating discussion I have ever partaken in and only further solidified my desire to go to Barnard. I also used my professor evaluations upon completion of the courses for my Barnard Application. I’m so thankful I was able to do that program; it was definitely the best and most inspiring summer of my life!

i wanna major in bio!! but i applied as a different major so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I want to major in Economics and Social History, but I really wanna go into public policy and I’m not exactly aware of the opportunities this major opens for that area- so the major may change!

I just really love how Eco and History which on the face of it are two very different subjects are brought together!!

@moxi99 I think 6/7 EST? I read about it somewhere I don’t exactly remember where

@thenameisi @moxi99 Yeah I believe they release the results somewhere from 6-7 EST. I’m pretty sure that was the time for last year.

@Nataliavas13 i did it this year! honestly that is what made me fall in love with Barnard. I cant imagine myself anywhere else which is why im so worried that I’ll break down if I dont get in.
On a side note, I want to major in Neuroscience & Behavior and minor in visual arts. Barnard and Columbia have amazing neuroscience programs

Hey guys! This is my first ever post, but I’ve bascially been stalking this thread forever and finally decided to join in. I’m really nervous for decisions tho :// I hope you guys are all doing well

Does anyone know if Barnard looks at everyone’s Financial Aid or only the students they are considering?

Since Barnard is need blind for US citizens I think they only decide Aid Amount for accepted students. That might not be the case for international students since it’s need-aware for them. However just to be safe they do send a link to the Fin Aid portal to all who applied for aid- otherwise it’d be kinda obvious who got in and who didn’t. This is logic tho, I don’t know exactly

@elsaban Welcome to the thread!!!
To those talking about their intended majors, I really love Barnard’s Human Rights Double Major which I would like to combine with either PoliSci, Philosophy, or Econ. I love that Barnard is one of the only college’s in the nation to offer a Human Rights major because I want to incorporate a humanitarian aspect to my future career.

I chose my major as history but will likely switch to American Studies

Does anyone know whether Barnard takes intake according to majors?

@thenameisi Barnard does not take majors into consideration when reviewing applications

@thenameisi I cannot imagine it has much real bearing on our decisions considering most current college students anywhere change their major several times before declaring. In terms of gathering intake, I’m sure it helps with their data to see what prospective students feel that they are interested in studying.

I like Barnard’s interdisciplinary human rights program as well. I plan on partnering it with women’s rights and possibly becoming an international human rights attorney.

hey guys this is my first post in this thread! so nervous to hear back and wish you all luck. anyone from NYC?
