Anyone else here? It might be too early, but I didn’t see a thread, so I decided to start one.
I’m also applying to transfer to Barnard next fall. I was waitlisted as a senior in high school, so I hope I get in this time! Good luck to everyone!!
Hi @ncgirl1667 ! I thought I was alone. Let’s hope it’s just the two of us applying. They can’t reject us then, lol Goof luck!
Ha – I wish! Are you applying as a sophomore or a junior? And does anyone know the likelihood of getting on campus housing as a transfer?
@ncgirl1667 I’m technically applying as a junior, but I have a feeling I’ll be kicked back down to sophomore, since I have some online courses that won’t transfer, according to the website. We’ll see how it goes, though. From what I hear, getting housing as a transfer (upperclassman in general) is hard and most people go off campus. You’re more likely to get it if you live far away, I think.
I’m also applying to transfer in the fall!!
Same here! what are your stats?
Hi @lover17 My GPA is 3.9 and I have a lot of extracurriculars and a strong rec letter and HS transcript. The only thing that’s against me is that I have an EFC of 0 and Barnard is “need-aware” for transfers. I’m having a hard enough time finding money to pay for the CSS Profile thing. Oy vey! We’ll see how it goes. Fingers crossed. What about you?
Can you post your result later because I was planing to apply as a transfer and my EFC is also 0.
@WordSmithNY when do you get the results?
@Selenarahman Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I plan on updating my results. They should have decisions by mid- to early-May. Application doesn’t close until March 15, I believe. Are you in high school still? The need bias doesn’t apply for first-years. You might have an easier time getting in.
I’m applying for a transfer as a sophomore! I was rejected in high school and my sister was an alumni, but hopefully round 2 will be better now that I’ve grown a lot and have gotten much better extracurriculars/teacher recs. I’m worried about housing as well, mainly because I really want to feel like a part of the college experience. Fingers crossed for us all~
I’m applying to transfer as a sophomore too! I was waitlisted then rejected but I’m trying again! My mom and two aunts are alumnae and have a lot of school spirit for Barnard. My current GPA is 3.7 (chem kicked my butt last semester) and I have declared a Neuroscience major and a fine arts major with a specialty in drawing. HS GPA was a 3.9 UW. i’m very nervous about this and applying to transfer to NYU also. Good luck to everyone!!!
Hey! I applied as a transfer student to Barnard College, too. I submitted my application 2 days ago. Keeping my fingers crossed. ;
I just applied as a Fall 2018 transfer student to Barnard, as well! I applied to transfer last year when I was a freshman in college and promised myself I would reapply this year if I didn’t get admitted the first time around. I remember reading all of the transfer threads last year but never made an account to post in them. Wishing you ladies the best of luck!!
Hey all! I applied as well. I am very nervous as I rushed my supplements
@KG5APR I did my essays for Barnard one day before they were due! But I think I’ll be okay. You will be okay, too. Don’t worry!
@NathaliaNhem OMG, I also did my essays the day before they were due, even though I spent about 3 months drafting them lol :))
@WordSmithNY same! I started my applications about 2 months before, but I ended up changing my topics and rewriting everything.
The freshmen results are making me so nervous!
