Barnard is 30th best liberal art college !! USNews

Barnard ranked 30th in US News liberal arts college ranking.

Liberal Arts Rankings - Best Colleges - Education - US News and World Report

Never mind.

isn’t this a bad thing? they have the resources of a large research university, and whatever is on their own campus.

when they rank barnard they do it without including any of columbia’s resources. this is obviously inaccurate because columbia is such a huge part of barnard. i’ve seen other rankings that includes the university resources as a whole and they’ve consistently placed barnard in the top 5.

It may have to do with USN&WR’s methodology. While Barnard has a higher selectivity than some of the other seven sister colleges, it has a small endowment. $150Million compared to Smith and Wellesley which have over $1Billion (Or at least they did prior to the recession) This is part of what ak2637 is saying.
