For those of you searching for a summer program, I'd really encourage you to check out Barnard's Pre-College Program. I participated last summer and had an absolutely incredible time! The classes are amazing and opportunities outside of class are endless. Because it isn't for credit, there isn't a daunting level of stress to get a perfect grade. Of course everyone puts forth their best effort, but you also have time to explore the city. At the end of the program you receive a written evaluation from your professor and it is set up in a way that allows you to make copies and send to your colleges. Don't miss out on this fantastic program! Let me know if you have any questions :)

I just got accepted for the four week program but it will depend on whether or not the classes I want are still open which I should find out tomorrow. I also plan on commuting…what do you think about that? Do most live on campus? Trying to save some $$$.

bumppppppppp is this program selective??! my grades kinda suck lo…but i can probably write a good personal statement…

Yeah, I’d like to know too. I’m definitely applying anyway (already handed recommendation forms to teachers), but some more information would be good. Thanks in advance!

hey i did the barnard pcp too! i dont have any ideas about the selection process but i would say that yes its pretty selective: my friend and i both applied, and we both have pretty similar grades and she even had a slightly more impressive resume than me but she didnt get it. maybe the personal statement is pretty important? just present the best version of yourself, but still be authentic you know?
@closeststar i’m applying this year, would you mind sharing you/your friend’s grades? i’m worried about getting in :s
because of certain reasons that i wont get into, i dont know her exact grades, but mine were like, all As and maybe 4 Bs total, maybe 5? like cumulatively over my freshman sophomore and junior year. i think at the time of application my junior year, i only had one b. she probably had around the same, honestly, maybe one or two more Bs, which is why i really think it comes down to the applicant as a whole.
