Has anybody succesfully done the three year and then transfer to Columbia law or is it very hard? Interesting or a waist of time and better to just do 4 years of graduate work?

when i asked about it, i was told that it was VERY competitive because the applicants are judged with regular law school applicants and that maybe only one girl will get accepted per year

caroline, I don't know anything about the Barnard/Columbia program -- I just am a person who went to law school & practiced law for about 20 years. I would NOT recommend an accellerated program for law school -- I simply think that is giving short shrift to the value of the undergraduate education. Law school is also very intense & very focused- not really something to rush into. I realize that you might be thinking about overall costs (1 less year of college to pay for) -- but I still think that anyone doing this would be missing a lot.

Anyway, the point is that coming from the perspective of an adult with a law degree... I would not encourage that path.
