I haven’t heard at all yet either! Need a lot of financial aid thought.
@vinylraincoat Hi, we have similar stats, – I had a 3.3 GPA in HS, a similar SAT, and a 3.97 when I applied to Barnard as a junior transfer and was rejected.
I went to a community college, though. Would you say they don’t accept many CC transfers, overall, or have you met cc transfers from other classes? Also, if you don’t mind me asking, did you apply for FA? Do you think those are big factors for rejections? I know it’s very holistic, so it’s probably not just one thing, but looking for some insight. Thank you!
@saderobinsonacts I’m not sure about the exact numbers, but I don’t think Barnard takes many community college transfers. I didn’t meet any in my transfer class, and I was an orientation leader for transfers one semester and only saw one community college transfer in that class.
I did not apply for financial aid, and unfortunately, I think that does play a factor in transfer admission. Sadly, colleges are a business, and Barnard does not have a very large endowment. The majority of the school’s income comes from tuition. I have met quite a few transfer who receive substantial financial aid, though, so it is possible!
If any of yall are thinking about or applying to transfer to Wellesley College, feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I’m a current sophomore at Wellesley who is applying to transfer to Barnard - I was just waitlisted yesterday

@colb1234567 Hello, I just received status update, and I got in. But I didn’t receive an email, so check with your portal directly. Best of luck!
Congratulations! Could the admits please share their stats/ecs? Any insight would very helpful.
I checked the portal and I GOT IN! I also didn’t receive email tho:
Some of my stats:
I have a 3.9/4.0 high school GPA, 1470/1600 SAT without writing, two APs (both are scored 4), no SAT2s, TOEFL 111 as an international student. I am a freshman at one of the UCs with a 3.4 GPA for the first two quarters. My first-year college activities are basically a business fraternity and a piano quartet. I got one rec letter from an MIT professor, which I think might be the main reason to get me admitted to Barnard.
I heard back, I got in!
I didn’t apply for FA!
Stats HS:
GPA: 3.0
SAT: 1070
did no ECs
College:
Adelphi: 3.3
CUNY John Jay: 3.81 (honors college)
EC: business owner, published writer, worked in One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building
I did receive an email! Good luck to everyone waiting, stay positive!
My STATS:
HS GPA: 3.5/4.0 Unweighted (My school does weighted but I converted it)
College GPA: 4.0/4.0 (first semester), my midterm report was straight A except for 1 A-
SAT: 1440
Essay: Honestly not the best. I re-read them. The first one about why Barnard I wrote about Barnard is the place where women are empowered. For the course- I wrote about a music course that students can critique societal wrongs and learn from other cultures. For the why transfer- it was about my academic restriction. Even though my school is really good as well, it just wasn’t what I was looking for.
Letter of Recommendation: I got three, I think I know them all quite well and the professors liked me.
Extra Curriculum: I did more during high school than college, to be honest, I don’t have any leadership position when I applied as a transfer.
I think I got in because I didn’t apply for Financial Aid. I seriously didn’t expect to get in.
Transferring as a rising sophomore
Best of luck to everyone else. Feel free to reach out to me for anything!
Does anyone have any idea when waitlist decisions might come out? I’m hoping soon because they released decisions later than anticipated
i got in!!!
Hey!! It seems like everybody’s got their decision… is anyone missing theirs?? Thank you and good luck!
@icelis I haven’t heard back yet! I did apply for financial aid though
