Barnard TRANSFER Fall 2020

@corinnaolson I figured that too especially since they changed the website to say that transfer admissions for fall would be rolling after May 1st which is only a few weeks away

@childishlandino I believe I just mailed a physical copy of it

@childishlandino You can upload all the forms to the portal

Do you guys know if they wait to review our applications until we have every material in?

@unicornsparkles I think it depends on the document. It would probably be hard to review you without your college transcript or letters of rec for example, but a document like your midterm report or transfer report would probably be okay to review you without. I know one of my schools was missing my transfer report for a while and they said they had already started reviewing me and that it wouldn’t affect my decision.

when do you think we will hear back?

@childishlandino what did it say before? it wasn’t May 1st?

Has anyone ever gotten a reply from Barnard? I emailed them over two weeks ago and no reply, so I emailed my regional admission counselor but she also didn’t reply :frowning:

I submitted my midterm report back in March before the schools closed, but I still didn’t have any grades in one of my classes so my professor put N/A. I don’t know if they want an update on this class now that I have more grades? Their website says that if you submit your midterm report early and will have N/A then you have to submit a second one later on?

@colb1234567 I think from previous years data the first wave was April 25 and all decisions were out by May 2

@corinnaolson I think it might come out later this year since they pushed the deadline for application to April 1st :frowning:

@gabsPL Same here, I emailed them since beginning of March and never got any reply (both regional counselor and admission). And one of my professor also put N/A on my Mid-Term report, but on my portal that it says everything is complete. So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, if they really need something they will email us. But also check to see our portal regularly in case they put anything on it.

On their website (https://barnard.edu/admissions/transferandvisiting) Barnard says they will begin rolling decisions after May 1st. This means that it looks like they are pushing back decision releases on a similar timeframe to the pushback of the deadline.

On the Midterm Report, I submitted mine later March or early April, but my admissions counselor told me that they are trying to be as flexible and understanding as possible, but to try to get the electronic signatures through faxing or to submit as much as I could before April 1st.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of anyone from Barnard, by email or phone?

@unicornsparkles They don’t respond to any emails. Maybe try DMing them on Instagram that you can’t get ahold of the admissions.

@gabsPL I think before it said Early May but no specific time frame. I’m hoping they release them around that May 1st timeline bc I’m really impatient lol

@unicornsparkles It took them about 3 weeks to reply to an email I sent at the beginning of March! I think the virus and school closure is taking a toll on their response time. I would suggest emailing your regional admissions counselor bc they reply a lot quicker and can usually answer most questions

I still haven’t submitted the midterm report because none of my classes recorded grades before midterms and the day after they finished the college closed and I had to move out. I emailed Barnard asking if I could submit a screenshot of grades because I cannot get ahold of some of my professors and have not heard back. I am really anxious about not having submitted it.

Same, I totally blanked and thought it was due April 15th.

Hi everyone! When do you guys think we might hear back? Do you think it might be earlier or later because of covid?

@izrose I’m pretty sure it showed deadline of April 15th on the portal before and they changed it.

@izrose I thought it was April 15th as well! I wouldn’t worry too much about having them in on time (i submitted mine on the 7th lol) but maybe try emailing them the screenshots of your grades as a failsafe and explain the situation but also say you’re still getting ahold of your professors. At least this way they’ll have a copy
