Barnard transfer housing?

I’ve applied for transfer admission in the fall and I just learned that housing is not guaranteed for transfers…is it common for transfers to not get a room? I’m really worried because if I get in, I really do not want to commute from home.

I know there are two floors of one of the buildings reserved for transfers (it’s on the website I don’t remember the building’s name)

I think most transfers do get rooms, but you might be on a wait list until close to the time school starts. If you live within commuting distance, then its possible that others may have priority – but you would probably have a room on campus by spring (when space opens up as students leave to study abroad). Most transfers are housed in Elliot Hall - [Elliott Hall](http://www.barnard.edu/reslife/residencehalls/elliott.html)
