Barnard vs. NYU...help me choose?

Oh my god, yes!! He was so sweet, he really challenged me (I was such a scared 16 year old). Wow, I really must've been his only student from England EVER, haha! What did you think of his class? What else did he say?

Have you heard from Barnard yet (you said you applied as a transfer)?

I thought he was amazing, i took a class with him called Equality and the Law. I remember we were talking about alcohol being legal at a much earlier age in europe than in the United States. He mentioned he once had a student from England who thought it was weird not to be able to have wine with dinner in the U.S. I am originally from Europe but i spent most of my life outside of New York City, but I grew up around the same kidn of mentality where its ok to drink wine and champagen and its been given to me since I was 13, my parents wanted me to know wines etc. I just remember that for some reason. I think he is fantastic, it was such a thought provoking class and he really pushes you, at first he was so intimidating playing devil's advocate all the time, but then you realize how hard he makes you think and that hes a really nice guya nd so brilliant

Ok, my mistake, the class was called Equality and the Law (I forgot). But yeh, same guy and he does push you! Wow, I had totally forgotten that discussion, it's so weird how stuff like that makes you remember.

Where in Europe are you from? It's kind of annoying being at a school now where all the kids are so immature about drinking; they do it just to get drunk and be cool, not to socialize or because they enjoy what they're drinking.

You still haven't mentioned if you've heard from barnard yet or any info like that. If you don't wanna mention it that's totally cool. I called them today and they said I should hear before May 12th cos that's when I go back to England. But my sister said even though I have a chance I shouldn't expect anything cos it is such a tough school.

I'm originally from St. Petersburg Russia, but I grew up facing the manhatten skyline right across the bridge in nj. I am still waiting for the answer from Barnard. I have not heard yet. I'm really nervous, because I had applied early and then got deferred and then I was rejected in the regular pool. Barnard has been my first choice for a long time. My high school is very well known to barnard and I go to Bryn Mawr another seven sister school, however, I don't feel so qualified, but you are right it is a tough school. Good Luck, you seem like you have a great chance, since you are showing your interest and you did the summer program. If you ever want to talk my email is lnisenba@brynmawr.edu and my aim sn is lngymnast4
