Barnard VS Tufts VS Boston College

I'm honestly torn between these schools and I loved them all equally. I would just really appreciate some feedback as to what people think would be a good school for an extroverted person who really cares about a sense of community within a school. Thanks!

What are the pros and cons of each of them for you?

BC is more conservative and also a Catholic school.

As someone who has spent a lot of time on the BC and Tufts campuses (I’m a rising high school senior), I can speak about those two schools:

BC technically accepts all creeds/religions/ethnicities, but as someone who lives right by the BC campus, you see a heck of a lot of white people. At the info session I attended recently, there were about 40 families in the room, and besides one Indian family, the only person who didn’t have pale, white skin was my dad. Also, the four students talking at the session espoused Jesuit ideals and were all Catholic. Just read the BC essay supplement prompts, and you’ll see just how strong the Jesuit influence has on the school. Are you ok with that?
Also, the campus is all concrete and stone, so basically beige and gray. Another great thing about the campus? 40% of freshman get stuck on the Newton campus, meaning they have to take a shuttle to the main campus for classes and…well, everything else.

Tufts is a beautiful school. Right in an urban environment, but once you’re on campus, it’s tiny and green and very college-y. I attended a class there this summer, and the faculty and students are all intelligent and friendly (and the students with whom I spoke about their Tufts experience LOVE Tufts, and they’re all different kinds of people). The only major problem is safety: as I was enrolled in the class, I got Tufts Police email alerts, and boy, did I get them. At least 2 times a week, someone would get mugged or attacked near the campus. It’s right next to some rundown “projects,” so it’s not the best idea to stay out in Davis Square nearby late at night; however, Tufts has a free bus late into the night that offers students rides back to campus if they feel unsafe. More importantly, not a single Tufts student has told me they ever felt unsafe on campus.

Well, that’s all I have. Good luck picking your schools! :)
