I just got back from Parents weekend and see that the Barney Webcam is up. I didn't get a chance to talk to DoIT. Did somebody else?

We had a safe trip home and hope that all of you did as well. We arrived home (Michigan) at 1:00 AM after the 700 mile drive. It was certainly a great weekend with so many things to see and witness.

Thanks Kings Point for the wonderful opportunity. Looking forward to the end of October.

Go Kings Point beat Coast Guard,

CPASteve

I see the web cam is up as well but the quality of the picture is still poor. The waterfront cam is clear as a bell.

See VADM Stewart's Change of Command Ceremony at 4:15 pm today.

Do you know if they are adding a link to see the ceremony on the parents's page? The link is not there yet.

I couldn't see the webcam from the "About" Page

Here is a link that works

http://128.177.29.250./view/index.shtml

WOW I like the new webcam

thanks chief! it looks clear as a bell :) Just wish we had sound

I am not getting the webcam...did it go back down or can you get it directly from the link you posted?

If you use the direct link in your web browser it works. From the WebCams page i don't see anyting. THe link points directly to the web cams IP address.
Here it is again,

http://128.177.29.250./view/index.shtml

It's working right now at 3:46pm East Coast time.
Can't wait until indoc next year! This would have been great from me this year.

Change of command? To whom?

Kumar is taking over until someone is appointed, so I've heard.

Sorry Chief. They turn off the webcams during indoc.

OTOH, they are getting more prolific at taking and posting pics. Thanks again to all the Mids (both officially assigned, and volunteers using private links) who took those candid shots and shared them.

The picture is great! Why is it not available on the USMMA web page? The waterfront camera was turned around and is now facing inside the office. I hope no one does anything they will regret, the whole world is watching! Chiefnerdnc, how were you able to discover the web address?

I found the Barney cam IP address by looking at the "Source Code" for the web page. In your browser go to VIEW and then source or view source. It shows a lot of computer code, but towards the end you see the web cam address. The waterfront is in there too. The Webmaster has to tweak the webcam page to make it come up. Also the Waterfront isn't turned around! It's indoors, and when it is dark outside and the lights are on inside you get the reflection in the windows.
I'm a computer guy and have learned these things...knowledge is power!

I see that the web cams are back on the USMMA news page again. The IP address does not seem to work now but at least I can spy on my plebe again. Thanks for the info!

That being my office I learned about the reflection thing pretty quick! A great excuse to get out of the office before it gets dark.

I have been monitoring the Barney cam by the IP address i posted earlier. It worked for the last 18 hours. I did have to close my browser a couple of times and restart, but that was my end problem.

I Have not had a problem since I saw the link here. Really like the extra options of being able to take a picture, zoom, etc.

Thanks a lot,

CPASteve

Deepsea...sound like a great excuse to me :D

Is that a new webcam at the waterfront? It is crystal clear!

Deepsea wanna send someone south to install a webcam at my office? I like your plan.
