Barret asu acceptance!

Ok so, I want a thread that people can post their stats on that got accepted to BARRET @ ASU in the last couple of years. I am a sophomore and want to go to Barret.

My SAT- 1250= CR+M, 1820CR+M+W.
4.0 GPA
Many Volunteer hours
NHS
HOSA (Vice-President)
Shadowing Exp
AP AND HONORS courses

MY CR is sort of low, include any recommendations on how to raise that! Thank you. Would a 1250 CR+M get me in? The average sat cr+m is 1340?!?!?! I need advice ASAP! I still have junior year to bring up SAT SCORES!

and I’m Instate.

The avg SAT last year was 1316 - it may be sightly less for in-state applicants. Take full advantage of the practice tests on the College Board website. BTW, Barrett has two "T"s (don’t misspell it in corresponding with the school :)).

Oh whoops, I totally messed up!!! Okay, thanks man, I’ll be sure to take practice test! Thanks CMON GUYS I NEED MORE RESPONSES THAN 1

I’ll be a first time freshman next year.

SAT: 1300 CR+M, 1950 CR+M+WR
GPA: 4.0 UW/4.5 W
ECs: VP of French Honor Society

I really think my essay was the reason for my admission, since everything else is just average or below par. Just make sure you APPLY EARLY and write an awesome essay

Thats great, its just that my CR is low!! I’m still a sophomore so I’m sure I have enough time to prep!!! What are some ways you prep’ed? Also what is your CR score and M individually? Are you instate resident?

I could only take the SATs once, so I prepped for about a week by taking the practice tests on the college board site. There really aren’t that many ways to prepare for the SAT unless you’ve got money to spare (which I don’t). My CR=630, Math= 670. I’m in state as well. Like I said before, the best thing you can do for yourself (besides better test scores) is applying early and writing the best essay possible.

SAT: 1710
GPA:3.3
Great extracurricular and great essay
was accepted, I am shocked but so thankful, its a great school.

I got accepted last month. As far as my stats:

2130 SAT, (1380 CR + M)
3.75 UW 4.6 W GPA
Top 7% of class
NHS officer
Club VP
Tempe youth council
National Charity League 100+ service hours
4 year varsity sports and senior captain
tons of other small clubs and an internship
and all honors and AP classes

I had a pretty darn good essay, if I do say so myself. It’s helped me get into another honors college with +1400 SAT averages and applicants in the top 3% of their class.

Not to offend anyone, but I’m a little surprised at some of the barrett acceptances this year. For an honors college that prides itself on Ivy-caliber students, I expected higher stats.

That’s because these acceptances are priority deadline. It’s easier to get in now (well actually last month) because there were plenty of seats and little competition. By regular deadline, you’ll see a lot of “ivy-caliber” students being rejected. That being said, the school isn’t looking to inflate stats for bragging rights…adcoms are trying to build a well rounded class. Sometimes SAT scores just don’t reflect that.

ssav999, true that.

applied Feb. 15 deadline and got acceptance news on the 19th.

2260 SAT (1530 CR + M)
GPA: 4.2 weighted, 3.9something unweighted
Extracurriculars are heavy in science (robotics, science olympiad, etc.)
Probably got in because I’m a National Merit Finalist…

Those are awesome stats, how did you prepare for the SAT’s? Especially the reading section?! TY
