I was assigned to Barringer Hall for my freshman year and was wondering if anyone has any tips for making the hall as comfortable as possible (especially during the warm months). Is it pretty much the same as other halls such as Slusher Wing? Do the windows open enough for a normal 20" box fan to be more useful than a smaller fan? How are the cockroaches in comparison to other halls?

One of my best friends lived in Barringer when I was a freshman so I hung out there a lot back in the day. I remember it did not have carpet anywhere (which is good because its a little cooler), and the hallways were much wider than my old dorm. Me and my friends used to say it gave off an “insane asylum” vibe (we couldn’t say why, but it just looked like a wacky hospital inside). Its literally two seconds from Hokie Grill which is convenient. Good place to make friends as there are long hallways with plenty of people on both sides.
