Barrons 2400 and I

Hi!

I got 2050 in my first try (720 math, 630 reading, 700 writing). I used only PR the first time.

I NEED a 2150 so I bought Barrons 2400. Im giving my second SAT in October. How helpful is it? can it make me reach that 2150??

Also, I find myself getting 7/11 etc in the math exercises. is it that the qs are hard?

I wasnt too far away in jan, but i was too involved with my junior year APs that i didnt even look at sat till july.

I will be grateful for any tips that can get me 2150.

no no no barrons!
check the stickys PLEASE. they’re there for a reason

Barron’s 2400 has a nice method for CR passages, but other than that it’s useless. Use the BB.

^^^ “Barron’s 2400 has a nice method for CR passages, but other than that it’s useless. Use the BB.”

I would like to counter that. I have read Barron 2400 and brought up my CR and Writing sections up to 700+ from low 600s. It has great tips for CR and also for Writing. It will tell you what to watch out for on writing questions and how to look for mistakes. Although I havent taken the real test yet, I practice with only about 1-3 mistakes out of the whole Writing section (major credit to the book).

and what about the maths part?

I also have used Barrons 2400 for Critical Reading and Writing. I’m sorry, I don’t know about the math section - I’m not really studying for math. CR and W sections are well-written and helpful, though.

if you struggle at math then the book would be good to review from. But use only CB tests.

The problem is, I did all the CB tests for the test i gave back in January. Its been a while now, but I’m pretty sure ill get the hint/direct answer of the memorable/hard questions. Generally, how much does a student with around 2050 get in his second try?

up…
