i would like to know this 2

nichols have u gotten any feedback on this yet??

i know barrons has a reputation of overprepping u and being ridiculously hard and w/e..but i wanted to know if the barrons ACT books were good or not for the Actual ACT exam (even tho the scores from their practice tests might not indicate how well u do)

well i also purchased the Mc Graw Hill 10 Act Tests Book.

My composite was much, much higher on the tests from this book. This is the only real info i can give you, seeing asthough noone else has reponded.

but yea i think my composite was raised 4 or 5 points from the barrons.

i don't know about the ACT one, but i used barrons for the PSAT and found it incredibly helpful

awesome!!!!..thanks nichols and puppylover

Yes, I go the Barron's one, and I don't think its a very good book. The science section is nothing like the real science part, and its all weird questions. Other than that, Ill get back to you when I look at the other sections.

for the 07 edition?

Sorry to tell you this, but Barron's did a terrible job with the ACT. The science and writing questions are completely out of scope; you're not going to see those problems on the real test. Math is much harder than the real test, which is not necessarily good, because your essentially practicing different techniques (its like studying calculus for a geometry test; it's out of scope). I suggest you go out and get McGraw Hill's 10-Test book. It is excellent, and it reflects the real test more closely.

thanks for the reply dhuang,
i agree with you totally about barrons and mcgraw hill
in fact, i have stoped using barrons altogther now
