Does anyone else have the Barrons book? I scored in the mid 30s on the actual ACT, yet I get 50% of the questions right in the Barrons book.

This book is very unrealistic. Don’t bother with this book. Some people may fight me for this, but don’t use it at all. It makes sense to test yourself on harder material to make the real ACT’s feel easier, but this is too exaggerated. I recommend other books.

(I have gotten a 36)

Alright thanks. I switched to the PR book and I’m getting closer to my actual score (a little below so I’m guessing its a bit more like the actual test- which is good I guess)

Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one.

I got 35s on my English and Reading on the ACT in June. I’ve yet to get more than 50% on the Barron’s tests.

Though, I do think it’s good for math. It tests concepts and the questions are forthright. I feel like a learn a lot when I do corrections.

So I’m only using it for math now.

What other books do y’all use for practice? I’ve done all the Real ACT tests. I have the 1,296 book from PR and the cracking the ACT from PR.

1296 is also too hard imo. am i right in this assesment?

Yeah I thought 1296 was also pretty hard…especially the science section.

Barrons AP test books are really weird too! My friend and I were studying for psych this year and her practice tests were super super strange in the barrons book and then the pr was like dead on.
