I bought the above book a few days ago to help me study for the PSAT this October. Has anyone used it? Is it any good? Is it easier/harder than the PSAT? What about in comparison to the real SAT?

Thanks in advance!

The Barrons PSAT book is definitely harder than the actual PSAT. However, studying the book will prepare you very well. Many people say that Barrons is way too hard and doesn't follow the actual format, but I really think that it definitely does help. The challenging reading passages enable you to think more critically, and the writing section is also very well organized. The math section is also more challenging, but if you work with challenging problems, you'll feel much more prepared for the actual PSAT. I got about a 1700 on my softmore PSAT but rose it to a 2300 after studying with the Barrons book. When I took the real test, the test felt like a mere joke. Oh and one thing, It would be good if you order past PSAT tests from the collegeboard website. I think you can probably get about five or more real tests to prepare for. Good Luck!
