I started practising for the SAT with the Collegeboard materials and did pretty well.
However, as I moved to Barron’s my marks decreased(considerably in the Reading/Writing Section)
Is it because the Barron’s material is too difficult or because my practice is not sufficient?
How did you do on the official materials?
The Barron’s tests are not good. I suggest you resort to using higher-quality questions.
You can’t use third party tests to predict or diagnose your score. If you must use them, use them for practice only.
@YoLolololol Around 46/52 on the Reading and 41/44 on the Writing section.
What do you mean by higher-quality questions?
@thehairbender
Erica Meltzer’s books have great questions.
The diagnostic test on the 28th edition is ridiculously hard.
I’m not sure for SAT specifically, but in general, Barron’s always has harder tests.
Is it normal if one finds Kallis’ SAT (reading + writing) a lot harder than Barron’s SAT? Haven’t tried CollegeBoard’s practice tests yet. Does anyone have the same experience?
I haven’t tried the Kallis’ SAT yet. I didn’t get the book anywhere
And no pdf found - ofcourse.
But if you find those difficult you should try the Collegeboard’s tests first. Maybe it’ll boost your confidence.
