Is it a good prep for the actual exam?

The reason I ask is that I'm in year II IB Physics HL and get pretty consistent 7s on all the papers we do, and I know I know the subject quite well (at least to the level that I've studied it).

It's not that I don't do well on the Barron's -- I do -- but I can't help but feel that it's trying to teach kids physics rather than just prep them for the exam, i.e. a much higher level of physics than actually needed.

I want a book that can attune me specifically to the kinds of questions that will appear on the exam, not anything more. I'm sure I'll be fine, just want to hear a few past experiences.

I bought the Barron’s book as well, only to find that everyone who has used it says its horrible for SAT preparation. Some topics aren’t covered enough, and some topics are over-covered. Also, the practice tests are supposedly very unrealistic.

Best book overall for the SAT Physics (by most of the people I have asked on CC) is the Princeton Review.

I don’t mind being over prepared so long as I am adequately prepared but those two don’t necessarily coincide.

I used Barron’s to teach myself Algebra back in elementary and middle school and I loved it, so I use it as my publisher of choice for this stuff. To make matters worse I live overseas and I doubt I can get a copy of PR any time soon.
