I took the sample diagnostic test at the beginning of the book.

I got a 10 on the essay, 37 correct, 12 incorrect, and 0 omitted. My raw score is a 34 (for the MC) and a 54 (overall).

Barron's Table:

Multiple Choice...........................Essay Subscore......................
Raw Score......................8....................10....................12......
30-39.......................530-740............560-770............590-800..

Basically, if my essay is a 10, my W score would be a 560-770, and if it was a 12, my W score a 590-800.

This is a big range for me. How do I know if I'm improving? Hypothetically, if this were a real SAT writing section, what would I get? How many points should you add to your Barron's score to approximate your realistic score on the real test?

Thanks.
