Barron's US History = Very Hard?

I took two of the practice tests in the 2007 Barron's US History SAT Subject Test and I failed miserably. I missed around 36 on each. Am I doomed? And are the questions in the Barrons book so specific and will never show up on the real Subject test that I should not even use Barrons?
My friend said that a lot of the Barrons questions/facts are superfluous and a waste of time to memorize

Thanks for the help

hmm ... i remember a guy who posted about him getting 30+ wrong on the Barron's US history prep book , and scoring 800 on the real one.
soo, i guess you're not that bad.

Hehe, I am that guy. Its true, barrons is much harder

Barron's is insane. I am probably the highest history buff you will ever meet and I get around ~60 correct.
