Are these books helpful? I was originally going to post this here .. not on the other forum .. my bad

I'd like to know, too. Are they similar to Barron's 2400 content?

I have that book. The strategies were pretty cool and original, but if they are truly helpful I will first see in the October SAT =O

I got both to prepare for October but they dont give you a number range they say excellent very good above average etc. does anyone know how to convert these into number ranges?

^totally disagree...
well at lease for the CR, i brought it a week ago, it was a piece of junk, totally not worth the 15. too bad i wrote in it or else i would've definitely returned it. First of all they classify the reading passages in to three levels, A, B, C. A being the easiest, and C being the hardest. That was a complete joke, A was much harder (and more random) than B or C. And when i mean hard, i don't mean SAT-wise. It's just..well i don't know...the feeling u get when u're doing the practice, i mean the question formats are the same but answers are just...well..random and stupid..It's not something that would come up on the SAT. It's like they didn't even examine the what the actual test is gonna be like and just made something up. But i think u should go to a book store and look over it urself. And when i mean look over, i don't mean skimming through (like i did), instead, do one of the practice sets from level A and a section from the BB and u'll know what i mean. Hope that was helpful:)

"I own the verbal workbook, which has both CR and writing.
IMO, its not very good. There are a few errors, and a few passages which are not like the SAT. I'd rather use the online CB course or blue book." -idlaunva

Thanks for the input .. how about the Writing Workbook? THere's a seperate Writing Workbook .. anyone have any inputs for this?

The thing with Writing is that you don't need a whole book dedicated to it. It isn't a difficult subject to master with PRACTICE. I advise utilizing the Blue Book for practice, as you've probably heard.

Congrats on the 100th post! (soon)

thanks ! its nothing compared to your 3783 O_O ..

I have Barron's 2400 and its reading section was quite helpful. They had no A, B, C classification system. I don't know about the Barron's specific reading workbook.

I am using the Barron's Writing Workbook and have found it very useful and helpful. I have gone from getting -10 on the writing section mc's to around -5 each test. Hopefully I will do better in Ocotober.

nice .. exactly the type of input i was looking for ! .. hope this will give me a nice refresher!

i hope these books are good...

I also bought the Barron's Writing Workbook. I'll let you guys know how it is after I use it.

i just bought the Barron's Writing Workbook yesterday .. I'll give my input ASAP . First impressions: The author's credentials are very strong, but a strong writer doesn't garauntee good methods .. Will respond soon (:

im hoping to finish it by friday, cause i got SAT test on SAT. im praying for a 750 even tho that seems ridiculous right now...

pfuu , i just finished the entire math workbook and i have to say it covers everything just right.

good book, but i believe the author should spend more time reviewing his chapter 8 because there are minor typos like missing "=" sign. or some silly mistake like 2 Bs. .. other else then that, its a good book. (:

i bought the barron's CR workbook to hopefully push me into the 750 range.

haven't used it yet, but i've skimmed it quickly and it looks decent so far.
