Well, I guess it’s not happening today. So it MUST be tomorrow…right…please…

^amen 10char

After some fretting, I’ve done some favor to myself and wrote a computer script that checks the website every 10 minutes or so. It’ll send me a text message if something’s up.

List is up, my son didn’t win. Oh well, congrats to everyone else!

I saw the list was posted too. No winners from my school. Three of us got honorable mentions though. A little disappointed I don’t get the money, but I can deal with that.

I got it! How many winners are there? Congrats to everyone, it’s a big deal that you even got nominated or an honorable mention!

Congrats! You must have a very impressive application! There aren’t any press releases yet so I don’t know the exact number but it is probably around 270-280ish for a scholar and about 190 for honorable mention.

I got it!! Yah! Makes my day. Good job everyone! In addition to honorable mention, even a nomination is an honor to be recognized!!

I didn’t get it either. Two winners from my school though. The press release is now out - there are 271 winners out of 1107 applicants

^^^I like Kutless too :)

Do they release the sophomore:junior ratio? I know four people that won it, but all of them are juniors.

I know two people a couple of years ago from my school who were sophomores that won. I think it’s more of an absolute thing rather than a relative competition by grade-level, so it makes sense that juniors will generally have more to put on their resume than sophomores.

Yeah they are mostly all juniors. Two from my school won it (UTAH STATE BABY) and he was an honorable mention as a senior and won it this year. I’m also a junior. My adviser said juniors usually win. So good luck next year if you’re a sophomore!

I got it! I thought I had a strong application, and apparently Northeatern’s selection committee thought I was the top applicant. Apparently the Goldwater committee thought so too! I’m the only recipient from Northeastern, and no other honorable mentions.
I’m technically a sophomore by Goldwater standards because I have 2 years left, but I’m in my third year. (I’m in a 5 year program.)

Congrats nanotechnology and the other scholars and HM recipients. I got it too, but unlike you, I was relatively anxious since I thought my application might have been weak compared to that of 3rd or 4th years.
