Baruch College vs. San Jose State

I'm planning on majoring in accounting and both schools are pretty good for that. I live in CA and San Jose State would be a very convenient, nearby college to go to. But, I would also love to go to college in New York. Both colleges cost about the same even with the out of state fees. I'm just not sure whether Baruch college would be worth going all the way to New York for. Especially since San Jose State is more well known in Cali, so it might be easier to find a job with a degree from there. I want to go to Baruch so badly, but I just don't know if its the best decision.

For Business, CUNY Baruch is far far ahead of San Jose State. Please do not even compare these two. Baruch’s 25th percentile is like San Jose’s 75th percentile. That significant difference in freshman stats should tell you something.

Side note: For Accounting, reputation doesn’t really matter. All tier 1 colleges have a fixed curriculum.

Whether you should pay $400 in transportation fees every month is up to you. (Less if you do not travel frequently.)

I’m actually really glad to hear you say that. I was trying to find some sort of statistic to compare the 2 but I couldn’t find anything. Could you give me a link to where you found what percentile each school is at? But I don’t really understand how you can say that the reputation of the school doesn’t matter. I feel like an employer would be more willing to hire someone who went to a school that the employer had actually heard of.
