Based on my stats, what colleges do you think would match?

Just out of curiosity, I'm an upcoming senior.

My high school doesn't have ranks.

GPA unweighted: 3.99

GPA weighted: I think I'm on a different system than everyone else, because mine is something like 5.33

SAT: 2140 -_____- Taking it for the third time in December. Do you think it's worth it? I got a 1970 the first time.

SAT II: History 730, taking math II, chem, and lit in October.

APs: US History and Language & Composition. Got a 4 on both. -____- again. They only offer APs to juniors and seniors.

Extra Curriculars:
- Key Club (sophomore, junior, senior) club photographer this year
- Student Council (sophomore, junior, senior) club photographer this year
- Cross Country (junior, senior)
- Social Studies, Spanish, English, and National Honors Society. Only offered to juniors and seniors, so I don't really think it counts for much?
- Youth Group - volunteered for vacation bible school and missions trip to New Orleans (helped paint a house and garden).

Your honest opinion is appreciated. :)

It would be very helpful if you say what your intended major is, or, best case scenario, come up with a list of schools that you’re alreayd considering.

Go to US news top 100 colleges and look at colleges #26ish to #50ish to look for matches. If your interested in liberal arts colleges then im not sure, you gotta do some research. First of what do you want to major in and where do you live? Heres some suggestions for now-
-NYU
-Boston College
-UMich
-University of Rochester
-University of Miami
-Syracuse(more of a safety)

Don’t shortchange yourself; definitely add some top schools to your list - you have a decent shot at the low Ivys too. Don’t live with regrets.

I think its worth it to retake the SAT. Since you improved so much last time, I think you have a chance of improving again.

I personally wouldn’t retake that awful SAT again. You did fine the 2nd time. I’m not a fan of taking it multiple times; certainly not 3 times but that’s just my opinion. Apply smartly and broadly, write good essays, and you should do very well.

Haha I was just curious to see what people would come up with off the top of their heads. The thing is, I don’t really know what I want to do (I envy the people who know exactly what they want to do).

theradtomato47 - Thank you! The list is helpful and I’m already looking at NYU and BC.

scootad - Thanks. Yeah I’m still applying to some ivies just so I don’t end up constantly wondering about whether I could have attended.

smellyharbour & scootad - I think I am going to take it again, it’s not that bad scootad!
