Chief6--yes, it's probably time to change the handle. I've just grown so attached to the name, lol. If only I could switch thiis to another one without having to create a whole new account...

And if I did change it, it would have to be MP4me, 'cause I'm a female. :)

Ummm, fast pace--I don't know the actual minute time, 'cause you would have the accordion effect. The people at the front might be doing the SOP pace, but those in the back would be absolutely SPRINTING. On the Marchback, we got screwed by B Co (they started at the wrong time), so we literally ran up this mile-long hill. It was agonizing. Anyways, for a good, fast pace I'd say do something that actually makes you out of breath--really out of breath, more than if you'd been running.

mrgreenapple, what unit are you with? How long have you been in? Have you guys transferred to the gortex boots, or are ya'll still in the old ones?

im in one of the stryker brigades at ft. lewis. april will be 2 years. when i went through basic we were issued the gortex boots but a lot of people bought regular boots like jungles once we got to our duty station.

how long was the road march you did at the end of cbt? and how long did it take you?

the ruck at the end was 15 miles (14.6, I think). We left at 0200 and got to the ski slope at around 0900, I think. We had 2-3 10-15 minute stops, and went over some really, really nasty terrain. With everything that we were carrying, our Cadre told us we had about 70 pounds of gear (well over the 1/3 of my weight that would keep me combat effective. I weigh all of 110.)

thanks for the info :)
