<p>Hey, I am looking to transfer to Berkeley and was curious about basketball courts.</p>
<p>Are there any public ones near the dorms or somewhere on campus? Indoor, outdoor? Crowded?</p>

<p>RSF (the gym, indoor courts) is right near the units. Playing indoors is so much sweeter than outdoors.</p>
<p>There's a basketball court at People's Park, which is right next to Unit 2.</p>

<p>do you guys know how the intramural bball system works? how good do you have to be to play? how much time commitment is there?</p>
<p>Courts in RSF are never open especially during the Intramural sport seasons. Well, it really depends on your timing but usually it's packed. It can be pretty frustrating at times waiting an hour or so for a game.</p>
<p>check out calbears.berkeley.edu for the RSF website. from there click on Intramural Sports on the menu. The page is updated for summer at the moment, but you can read about it when it gets closer to the fall and they change it back.</p>

<p>windstruck: it really depends on what time you go. during IM's at night (around 8pm) it is near impossible to get a court. if you go before 4 a game is nearly guaranteed.</p>
