I’m wondering what you think my chances for Bates are. I’m wondering if it’s a match or a bit of a reach. I’m applying ED II. I believe ED II accepts about 45 percent but it may be lower. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

My essays are good and quite unique (I assume) and my recs seem good.
I’ve interviewed and I thought it went well.
I’m not submitting Standardized Tests and everyone says that won’t hurt me. I’m just wondering if you may need to compensate for this anywhere else in your application. Do you think my stats are good enough without SATs?
As I said any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Wow. Thanks! People are telling me that I have a decent shot at this school but it definitely isn't a guarentee. What schools are you applying to?

All your stats look good, so it looks like you have a good shot. You can never fully predict anyone's chances because we don't actually see your entire application but I don't see anything that would get you immediately rejected. It just depends on the rest of the applicant pool. Good luck!

im applying to nyu, colgate bc tufts rochester cornell brown penn duke jhu BATES gtown and i have mediocre stats (at least in perspective to these schools)

My daughter is a junior at Bates. Your information seems great- you didn't mention where you are from- Anywhere but the Northeast is a plus! Why aren't you sending your SAT scores? I know Bates doesn't require them, but it always seems to me that NOT sending them indicates that you aren't happy with them. EDII doesn't give you quite the edge that EDI does, but it should help. Bates likes committed students that WANT to go there. Did you interview on-campus? Bates is one of very few schools (see list in last Sunday's New York Times Education supplement) that views interviews as important as any other aspect of your application. Bates is not quite need blind, tho' they are working on that, so if you can pay your way, it could help, too. Bates is becoming more selective every year, so there are no guarantees, but you should have a good shot at acceptance, from my limited perspective.

i think you have a good chance...but i guess you would know by now anyway! i am also applying to Bates regular decssion...i really hope i get in my tennis coach and sister in law both went there and said it was amazing....they both wrote me letters of rec....let me know if you found out about ur admissions status yet!
