I am applying regular decision to Bates, and I was wondering what my chances of being accepted are. I will most likely send out the application tonight as I have just completed the supplementary essay, so I am hoping for the best.

GPA (weighted): 3.8/4.0 - hopefully this will get even better by the end of the semester
Top 25% of the class, but I do not believe I am in the top 10% (too many smart people!)
SAT: 2100
SAT II: US History - 770, Biology - 660
Sports:
- 4 years of Cross Country, 3 Varsity, 1 as Co-Captain
- 3 years of Lacrosse, 1 Freshman, 2 JV (not my strong suit)
- 1 year of Indoor Track
Work: Caddied for 2 years
Volunteer: 80 hrs
Classes: AP English, Gov, Biology, and AB Calculus this year, AP US History last year (5 on exam), and I have taken all honors otherwise except for freshman year.

I feel like I wrote a solid CA essay and supplement as well

My sister graduated from Bates this past May, and I am not sure if that would help my chances (I certainly don't think it would hurt, because she did well at the school as a Bio major). Also, I live not far from Boston, MA, and I would assume that there are many well qualified students applying from this area as well, so I that could hurt chances.

I have not gotten an interview, and I was wondering if I still should/could do one near where I live or at Bates.

Thank you, and good luck to all others who are applying!
