@Kiltdad2 Wow! Thanks for the info. Never knew anything like that
@lynkel Lol!
@lynkel me to!
@snow30 I am really, really hoping we get in! I submitted an additional letter of recommendation from my Colby professor, annotated activities list, and submitted my interview. I really WANT this.
@lynkel I also submitted some additional informations a few days ago; an essay on my work experience in an engineering firm and an update on my AP classes. It will be really great if we get in!
@snow30 Yes it will! I’m debating whether or not to drop AP Stats… It’s starting Tuesday of this week but I’m really not feeling going to school all day. If I drop I’ll be able to leave school after my 1st period (which I’ve been doing for 5 months) and I’m already taking 4 other AP classes.
@lynkel I suggest that you should just do what you feel is best and what you know you can handle.
@lynkel Also i dont really grab your schedule. Is it that starting tuesday this week all classes will be geared towards AP’s and normal classes will cease?
@snow30 No. I am already taking 4 AP classes and will continue to take them for the rest of the year. Although, AP Stats is only a semester class not a year long class so it is geared to start this Tuesday.
@lynkel Oh okay
@lynkel Considering you want to study Economics, it might be a plus to take the AP stats though.
@snow30 That’s what I was thinking.
@lynkel I recommend you not drop AP stats based on what our guidance counselor told us. We were told that you should not change the original schedule you sent to colleges on your common app, especially when applying to elite LACs like Bates, unless of course you are changing for something that might be seen as a more challenging course. If it makes you feel any better, word is that in our school at least AP Stats is one of the easier APs. My daughter was considering dropping AP Calc for an art class and was told not to.
@apple23 Thanks. I’ll definitely wait it out and see what my guidance counselor says. I’ll probably end up taking it.
Have any RD applicant received a Bates account?
@Onsemiru I don’t think so.It is mailed. They even did not reply to my email and its been a week. Have to call them now. (
@ZainSD I see… If you are planning to call, could you share Bates’ reply to us?
@Onsemiru I’m a RD applicant and received my ID and Password via snail mail about two weeks ago.
@Onsemiru one applicant already called and got his ID.
