*****Bates College Class of 2020 ED and RD Discussions*****

@lynkel Me to!

@snow30 Have you been accepted to any other schools?

But in the meantime, any current student or alum of Bates. It will be really nice to hear your experiences. :smiley:

@lynkel Nope. I am waiting on my first decision from Lawrence University, which is late this month and Sewanee, Bates and Dickinson next month.

@snow30 Makes sense. I’ve had all my acceptances/rejections except for Bates.

@lynkel Haha! Bates will be part of our acceptances hopefully! :wink: . If i may ask, apart from colby which other schools were you rejected, if any.

@snow30 I was only rejected at Colby. And hopefully!

@lynkel hmm okay, was that the only competitive school you applied early to.

@snow30 I applied and got into Gordon College, they are semi competitive with a 40% acceptance rate.

@lynkel and were all the schools you applied to in maine?

@snow30 Gordon is in MA. The others were Maine schools.

@lynkel okay, looks like you’re really in love with Maine!

@snow30 I’ve moved all over the East Coast of the United States, and been to many different middle schools and high schools. I was born in Maine, and my family is here. It is home.

@lynkel hmm okay.

@snow30 You don’t mind leaving Africa? Won’t you miss your family? I guess I am just a homebody…

@lynkel At all! Nigeria, my country in Africa is a really nice place(if you make it to be), but i want to explore other places. and moreover my elder sister is currently studying in the united states(as an undergraduate) as well as my elder brother who will most probably be doing his masters in the states as well, so i don’t want to be left out. >:D<

@snow30 That is a very good attitude to have. I wish I was as brave as you are! But it makes sense. I was thinking about doing Law or Business school out of state.

@lynkel Thanks! What made you change your mind about the law school?

@snow30 I don’t know. I’m still unsure what I really want to be.

@lynkel haha! same as me.
