Bath Towels - tell me your favorites!

Consumer Reports did a review of bath towels in Feb '23 and chose Parachute Classic Turkish Cotton Towels for their Editor’s Choice towel. There are others highly rated too. I can’t gift the link, but I read it online on my library’s website, where they have free access to Consumer Reports…I think many libraries offer that.

The article talks about the different types of cotton, loop pile, thicknesses, how to care for towels, etc.

Lol. Yes. Please do and report back!

We switched over to the thin Turkish towels.

They are super lightweight, get softer and softer after washings, absorbed so. much. water. and dry very quickly. Love them and don’t miss heavy, ‘fluffy’ towels at all.

I love them. My people are unconvinced so no buy in for bath towels :frowning:

I switched to them for beach/pool towels years ago after getting tired of carrying a huge bag to fit the kids towels. Bonus points for no sand sticking.

I’m going to definitely try those - they are on Amazon as well - many colors:

I love them too, they are the best towels. It was easier to convince the family of their superior beach uses. Took a couple years to convince the family that they would be fantastic as everyday towels as well.

Both D20 and D23 took a couple to college, wonderful in a small dorm environment. D23’s roommate intrigued and thinking of switching (guess her towels aren’t drying at all between showers).

Does the kind you linked have terry on the back side? I have seen some like that… and was thinking they might be good for home.

They do. Those were the ones that convinced DH. I still like the ones with no terry but they are a good compromise.

Girls took ‘no terry’ ones to school.

The ones we’ve liked from Kohls are labelled Sonoma (store brand) OEKO-Tex

I think this one - Sonoma Goods For Life® Ultimate Bath Towel, Bath Sheet, Hand Towel or Washcloth with Hygro® Technology

Very affordable ($8.99, or less if sale and/or coupon). Lots of colors. They are soft but not overly bulky. After purchase, hubby and I both agreed “what took us so long to replace the old ones?”. After 2 years, they still seem new.

OP here. Sorry to not reply sooner, work was crazy yesterday. I appreciate all the recommendations.

I’ll have to check out the Turkish towels for sure

I found the perfect towels at Target a couple of years ago. I loved the pattern, weight, absorbency, and price. Unfortunately, so did my cat so now all of them have extra fringes due to her enthusiasm. She doesn’t scratch any furniture so I guess it’s definitely the lesser of two evils. And sadly they are out of stock now so can’t replace them.

The sonoma quick try towels are great! I don’t like a lot from Kohls, but these are great! I have them in 4 or 5 different colors !

Another LandsEnd towel fan here.

Hubby and sons like the bath sheet size.
We all like the quality (dry well and last).

I wait to buy when on sale bc they are pricey IMO but they are the only brand I’ve bought for last 20 years.

Target Threshold signature are a very good price point. Bought them for my college kids and now using them in all our bathrooms. I use fabric softener, too, which gives them a feeling I like although I’m sure DH doesn’t notice.

These look like beach towels, with the tassels etc. You use them as bath towels? I may have to buy one to see how they feel.

I use the ones without a terry cloth backing, DH uses the ones with the terry cloth backing (the ones linked). They are so lightweight, super soft and dry very quickly (both versions).
