I'm ashamed to do #2 while my room mates are in the dorm. This is my first time living with anybody else besides my family. It feels awkward that they know I'm in the bathroom taking a dump. I also fear that they may need to use it right after I get done using it. So far I've been going down stairs in the lobby bathroom because no one is ever down there. Does anyone else have this problem?

I had some issues with bathrooms too. I’ve never been fond of public bathrooms, and I suddenly had to use one every single day. It took some time to adjust, but after a while you stop worrying about it.

Who cares, just go… Stop acting like you’re the only one that needs to do #2, they do it too. I remember my first year when I was in a dorm. Somehow, I became comfortable enough to even announce that I had to go take a dump when I did go.

Buy a can of air freshener tho, please.

air freshner, or lighting a match goes a long way.

Yes. I had the same way, and would go at odd times/to virtually unused bathrooms. If your current system works, stick to it. Do not do something that makes you feel uncomfortable.

For the first week or so I was really bugged about it, too. I bought spray consistently for our bathroom because no one else did. (good call on my part)
You get used to it though. My suitemate talked a lot and didn’t realize to **** when I would go into the bathroom and wanted to have a full fledged conversation to the point I had to tell her to shut the heck up because I needed to drop a deuce. Funnily enough, she would still turn on the shower and poo because she didn’t want anyone to know even at the end of the semester.

Everybody poops. It’s not that big of a deal in retrospect. Our neighbors (guys) got to the point where they didn’t even shut the door to pee. THAT’S weird.

I would say that this is more information than we really need to know.

Your paranoia will really kick into high gear when you share a hotel room with a romantic interest.
Get over it, everyone goes #2.
But of course, mine doesn’t smell…jk

I presume your roommates use the bathroom? And do you mind? I’m pretty sure it’s assumed that everyone is going to use the room’s bathroom. A spray to get rid of the smell is really as far as you need to go.

Also, [Amazon.com: Everyone Poops](http://www.amazon.com/Everyone-Poops-My-Body-Science/dp/0916291456)

^

LOL, one of the suggested books is ‘It hurts when I poop!’

One of the reasons I would hate to have a roommate. It’s funny, because if I had a roommate and knew they were pooping, I wouldn’t care, but that concept does not work in my head when switched. I do not like going on trips with friends because I stress about an “away” toilet situation. In fact when I went out of state earlier this year my friends and I stayed in a hotel and I would use the restroom near the lobby rather than the one in the room because for some reason I feel like I need privacy. So yes, I share this problem but that was only short term. I would recommend some air freshener and be able to make a joke about it with them since they probably don’t care at all.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. It’s nice to hear from other people that was in the same situation as me.
