Bay Area College Counseling

Hello CCers,
I am looking for a private college counselor for my son, to help him with essays and applications. I'm having difficulty finding reasonably priced counselors, so I was hoping someone could give me a recommendation. If anyone had success with somebody who offers their services to the Bay Area (we live in Los Altos), I would greatly appreciate it. You can either post here or PM me.

Thanks to anyone who can help

To those who are wondering, my son is applying to mainly UCs (Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCSB), possibly a few CSUs (Cal Poly) and then maybe Harvey Mudd.

Shouldn’t the high school counselors in the schools in that area (i.e. a non-poor area in/near Silicon Valley) be well versed with UC and CSU applications, since so many students from that area attend UC and CSU after graduation?

Have you and your son gone through the UC and CSU web sites?

If you are interested, I know of a fabulous counsellor in New York who can do everything via computer. I, personally, feel like we are all so willing to pay huge fees for tutors, extra-curriculars etc. Why would we not put some money toward having the best application (that represents the student) possible?!
